Menagerie Grant Marketplace Process

Communities can apply through the Menagerie.is/grants website for funding from specific L1s in our ecosystem

Each community applying for a grant votes on the their application, and shows the L1 grantor both their community performance and their voting record

Grants that are awarded by an L1 grantor to a grantee community are distributed directly to that community’s treasury

Once payment is in that community’s treasury, that community distributes grant assets according to:
○ The smart contract parameters outlined by the grantor
○ The grantor’s intent as specified by the grant agreement
Menagerie Community Grant Marketplace
All existing Menagerie clients will be eligible to participate in the Menagerie Grant Marketplace via the Menagerie grant matching engine. The Menagerie grant matching engine allows any existing Menagerie client who builds their community with us to receive additional financial support to help their growing community flourish. Grantors in our matching engine review the Grantee Intake Form in an effort to support communities once they have proved their longevity and impact through Menagerie’s sustainable community governance solutions.
The Menagerie grants marketplace supports projects that are big enough for two or more ecosystems. While Menagerie has a preference for projects that qualify for multichain grants, multichain grants are not a requirement for clients.

$4.5M Grant to Kickstart the Change
RampRate innovated with Peter Diamandis and XPRIZE, “the founder of modern decentralized innovation”to plan its evolution – and then connected the dots to align with the goals of several decentralized ecosystems powered by community building platform Menagerie.is. With our connections, the project was funded by an initial $4.5M grant that funded both external and internal costs of:
- Strategy for decentralized community & governance
- Legal & tax framework for community incentivization systems
- Self-sovereign identity model
- Universal wallet
- Web3 community incentivization design & implementation
- Reputation-based community governance
- Self-service creation tools
- Community tools implementation
- Community launch
Today, we are working on obtaining additional tranches of grants from other parties interested in aligning with XPRIZE’s goals. We are also project managing the organization’s progress towards the target milestones to ensure that each grantee becomes a success story.
